EPIC Miniature Agent Case

The Miniature Agent Sample Case.

This project spawned from an issue our sales agents were having at Cooper Lighting: our full sized outdoor sample cases are expensive to create and difficult to transport to customers due to the size and weight of the luminaires. Sample cases are a necessary part of the sales process as they help agents communicate the aesthetics and features of a given luminaire and/or family. They also offer a means of showmanship to create a memorable experience with a customer through product interaction, helping to make a sale and secure business long-term. Considering all of this, I needed to create a sample case that was easily transportable, cost-efficient, and allowed agents to effectively showcase luminaires, and the first product family chosen to make this new sample case for was our newest EPIC family.

After more than a year’s worth of work, the EPIC Miniature Agent Case was born. The case itself is carry-on size, featuring handles and wheels so it can easily be transported. Inside the case there are labeled pockets for each luminaire and accessory, keeping them presentable and organized. The parts are quarter scale and 3D printed out of Nylon 12 (PA 12) for cost efficiency and ease-of-replacement. The foam insert and the EPIC nameplate are both removable, allowing for the case to be used for other product families in the future as per the needs of an agent.

This case features multiple ways for the sales agents and customers to engage with the luminaires and accessories, fostering an environment of interactivity to create a memorable experience. The slipfitter arm can be friction fit onto the luminaires, the puck can friction fit onto the top of the luminaires, or the luminaires can be set onto the puck and different trims can be put on.
